How about a more adult version? My version of this childhood treat starts with fresh lime juice and end with a good Gin!
Gin and Tonic Jello Shots
serves 3
1 small package lime jello
80z. boiling water
3 0z.chilled fresh squeezed lime juice
5 oz. good gin ( I like Tangueray)
Combine jello and boiling water in small mixing bowl. Add lime juice and Gin, stir to combine.
Let cool slightly. Divide among stemless wine glasses or your favorite high ball. Refrigerate 4 hours until firm.

Oh Jello shots how I loved you, once, but I might have to make some for my birthday this year. I was in Vancouver in a small town with hubby when I spotted a tray full three years ago...I could not resist! I would even eat the green ones, as i like cherry and orange :)
Hmmm I think I might have to make some this weekend... we'll be celebrating all the family Pices birthdays!
Oh the color is so pretty! :)
Sarah this is neat!!!! I can revisit my college days in a more refined way now.

Girlfriend, you've been a cocktail bender! Love that. And another thing, this is the only "food" I can think of that could be that particular shade of green and still pass throw my mouth! GREG
Amazing photograph, you rock!
You make jello shooters look classy and not the fodder of a story that starts of going wrong at "....and then someone broke out jello shooters" and ends up with a hangover. :)
Believe it or not, I have never had Jell-o shots before, but there's plenty of time to change that. Lovely to look at but undoubtedly even better to drink! 8-)
so lovely..you know I never had jello when I was little...on the other hand when in college..ya -loved jello shots -great pics

Fun! I was drinking jello shots on St. Patrick's Day at a pub! Never had any idea how to make one!
Just like college! But you served them in beautiful glass cups, not the paper Dixie cups.
Gorgeous! This would be a perfect pre-dessert at a 5 star restaurant!
Lovely! Can't wait to try them!
have never tried these shots!
OMG, i was totally planning on making gin & tonic jello shots. I've been told that the quinine in the tonic water will make it glow if photographed using a black light. very cool post. Love it!
