A Weekend trip and heirloom tomatoes

I had the pleasure of joining my husband on a business trip this weekend to L.A. A fantastic time was had by all. My only complaint about Los Angeles was the traffic, which I'm sure is a pretty common complaint.
We headed to L.A. with no agenda other than a meeting on Saturday. I love these type of weekends, the ability to wander to your hearts content. Taking in the sights and sounds of the city.
I had no preconceived ideas of L.A. ( other than the traffic) so I was slightly surprised when I found delight in seeing famous street names or old landmarks. I am a huge "old Hollywood" fan. I love the stars and starlettes of old Hollywood movies, Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Cary Grant just to name a few. A classic period of time when women were graceful and elegant and men were gentlemen. I loved the sense of history the city provided, the romance, the glamour and the hopefulness.
The culinary scene in the city was abundant, I came away with a very simple and absolutely delicious salad idea that I will share in the next few days, I'll give you a hint....heirloom tomatoes.

Love the deep blue of the sky and the curve of the path in that second shot. Nicely composed but I don't have to tell you that:)

Whenever we go to LA, we stay in Santa Monica and visit their Saturday farmers' market, so fun! Can't wait for your heirloom tomatoes creation!

I can't help but feel you missed the best part of LA, I hope you come back. LA is one of the greatest places on earth. Saying the traffic is bad is like saying the moon is too far away. Sure some effort is involved, but what in life (worth doing) is easy! Don't live safe. You'll only die and then be merely dead... GREG
