Vesper

I love a good drink. This being said, I should also mention that I don't drink very often. When I do have a drink I go for the classics. Gin and tonic, rum runners, and a really well made martini.
In a recent James Bond movie Casino Royale, James orders a Vesper. "Three measures of Gordon's, one of Vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake very well until it is ice cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel."
In my version of the drink I used Clear Heart Gin, Ciroc Vodka and Lillet. ( Kina Lillet is no longer available) The Clear Heart Gin has smooth orange undertones. I decided to add a orange peel instead of the lemon peel.

serves 2 ( or one international spy)
3 parts Gin
1 part Vodka
1/2 part Lillet
One orange peel
Ice to fill the shaker
Combine all ingredients in a very well chilled cocktail shaker and shake. Pour through strainer into a chilled martini glass and add orange peel.

The red in the photo makes me think this must have been a romantic martini moment! I love to try different martinis, but do not drink as much either...

I love this drink! Do you mind if I copy this recipe and post at SippitySup! I have been looking for a new cocktail and this fits the bill like a glove. I'll certainly fawn all over you in the write up! GREG

Are you and Greg trying to get me drunk this morning?

I've never had one, but I can already tell that I would love this drink! I'm interested in the gin you mentioned as well. The orange undertone description is intriguing.

Lori-
Clearheart Gin is only available in the Midwest, I think?! I tried to get more shipped here from the vendor but couldn't. It is one of my favorite though! You can go to www.benzbeveragedepot.com and ask if they can ship it to you?!
